Korean smartphone maker company SAMSUNG continues to lead the overall mobile market in India in its quarter 3 with market share of 23.2%.
Home bred handset company Micromax maintained the second position in both overall mobile phone market and the smartphone segment with a market share of 13.7% and 17.7% respectively, supported by online sales.
Micromax though slipped 0.6 percentage point in mobile phone segment as compared to Q2 2015.
The study also revealed that Micromax is facing intense competition in $50-$100 price segment from other domestic players such as Intex and Lava.
Micromax Yu brand alone is now selling more smartphones than Xiaomi online putting pressure on the Chinese brand to scale up in the Indian market.
